The NAFTA Patient Assistance Program has been designed to direct patients to a resource which provides Fareston (toremifene) or Nolvadex (tamoxifen) based on need.
The NAFTA Patient Assistance Program is administered by the Franklin Group, Inc.

Inclusions:

· Diagnosis of primary invasive carcinoma of the breast
· AJCC Stage I or II
· ER+ or PR+ or both
· Female in peri- or postmenopausal phase of life
· Primary treatment by lumpectomy alone, lumpectomy and radiation, or mastectomy
· Entered into trial within 84 days of definitive surgery
· Axillary node negative or node positive
· Staging by SLN or axillary dissection
· Clinically free of breast cancer s/p surgery
· Life expectancy of at least five years from diseases other than breast cancer

Exclusions:

· Recurrent breast cancer
· Prior history of invasive cancer
· Hx of systemic chemotherapy for a previous cancer
· Previously treated with anti-estrogens
· Symptomatic endometriosis
· Pregnant or nursing mothers
· Hx of postmenopausal gynecological symptoms contraindicating anti-estrogen therapy
· Evidence of liver disease
· Hx of DVT, pulmonary embolism, venous or arterial thrombosis, thrombophlebitis or other coagulation abnormalities
· Significant ocular or retinal abnormalities which would contraindicate anti-estrogen therapy
